PDWORKS helps school leaders to plan professional development that fits, because teachers deserve it.

WHAT WE DO

PD WORKS redefines K-12 professional development by helping leaders to trade in one-time, disconnected workshops for a comprehensive, school-wide PD plan that leverages human resources, time, and structures to strengthen instruction and increase student achievement.

PD WORKS is an education consulting company focused on supporting schools with designing and implementing high quality, job embedded professional learning opportunities for teachers and staff. Unlike other education consultants, PD WORKS takes leaders through a step-by-step process to develop a yearlong arc of learning that includes specific objectives and outcomes for leaders and teachers alike. No more “one off” PD sessions that teachers forget about the next day. PD WORKS will help leaders create a plan based on an explicit instructional focus that connects the learning and work of admin, instructional leadership team, common planning time, and department meetings.

WHY US

Professional development workshops in K-12 education are often “one off” and disconnected from teachers’ daily work. It is no surprise then that teachers across the country report dissatisfaction with the professional development experiences they are required to attend. The worst part is that school and district leaders spend a great deal of time planning these workshops or devote significant funding to purchasing professional development from outside providers to support their teachers.

PD WORKS offers a solution to this challenge. PD WORKS provides districts and schools with the tools and coaching necessary to design and execute a comprehensive school-wide approach to impactful professional development that strengthens instruction and increases student achievement. No more disconnected, broken professional development sessions that teachers dread attending.

Rob always sought explicit continuity to link across a series of professional development sessions. Rob opened PD sessions with data he collected from the past session and articulated to teachers how that feedback informed the development and execution of the current session. Not only did the content improve but his transparency led to more honest feedback from his staff knowing that he read and took action on their learning experiences.

Rob designed the professional development for new leaders with adult learning principles in mind.  Principals were given time to explore exemplary materials, practice and apply their learning and talk with each other as they made sense of material.  His materials were organized, accessible and relevant to the leaders and his presentation style is direct, but approachable.
